The tropical rain forest is the most diverse biome on earth. It is full of some of the most interesting plants and animals on this earth from frogs that can kill just from touching them to adorable cats that can walk down trees upside down.
Fauna(animals)
The tropical rain forest has many interesting animals. The poison Dart frog is a frog that has poison on its back which probably made from built up poisons from their prey. The poison dart frog, when touched, kills you almost instantly and has enough poison to kill ten grown men. Poison Dart frogs are often very brightly colored to warn their predators not to touch them.
The margay is another of the interesting animals of the tropical rain forest although it is not as well known. The margay's cousin the ocelot is better known. The margay is a small cat that grows to be about 3 feet long not including the tail. They are very skilled hunters who often eat small mammals such as squirrels, marsupials and small primates. They also eat small birds sometimes. The margay has amazing climbing abilities and spends most of its time in the trees where it lives and hunts. margays as shown in the picture while decending trees can go headfirst they can also hang on branches by their hindlegs to reach their prey.
the collard anteater is an small mammal of the rainforest. It has an extremely long tongue which it uses to eat its prey of ants. It's tongue allows it to reach down into cracks and crevices to get out bugs that other animals couldn't.
Flora(plants)
Orchids are a flowering plant that live in many climated but mostly in the tropical rainforests. They atract bugs to pollinate them with their bright colors. They grow upwards like vines and need support. Some orchids can grow to be 14 feet long. many people use them as beautiful house plants because they are so pretty and delicate.
Bengal Bamboo or Bambusa Tulda is a type of bamboo that grows in rainforests. specifically those of southeast asia. Bengal bamboo can grow to be up to 80 feet tall. It is very inportant to its evironment because it helps to stop erosion and plooding by sucking up lots of water when tit rains alot.

there are many epiphytes that grow in the rain forest. Epiphytes are plants that can grow anywhere. Many epiphytes of the rain forest grow on tall trees so that they can get sunlight with out growing very tall. Some common epiphytes are orchids, cacti, bromeliads, aroids, lichens, mosses and ferns
